Brake drum processing features
The characteristics of the brake drum material:the production process of the brake drum blank is casting.The main raw materials are usually pig iron,scrap steel and steel,and some alloys such as Cu and Cr are added.It is a brittle gray cast iron material.The wear resistance is very good and the hardness is usually around HB200.
The processing characteristics of the brake drum:the brake drum is processed by thin-walled parts,which is easy to be deformed.The control of the shape and position tolerance has always been a problem encountered in mass production of many factories,such as round runout,cylindricity,parallelism,braking.The tolerance of the drum hole,etc.,the surface roughness is high,and the general surface finish is within Ra1.6.Now many manufacturers use the CNC lathe to process the brake drum at high speed.Therefore,when selecting the tool material,the brake drum must be guaranteed.It has excellent processing properties and excellent tool materials in terms of hardness,wear resistance,toughness and impact resistance,and has a longer service life.
